For the 25th consecutive year, TOPPER'S at The Wauwinet on Nantucket has been recognized by Wine Spectator's 2021 Restaurant Awards with the Grand Award, the program's highest honor. The Grand Award is given to restaurants that "show an extraordinary commitment" to their wine programs.

Overlooking Nantucket Bay from its home at The Wauwinet, recognized in Travel + Leisure's Top 500 and housed in the only Relais & Châteaux hotel on island, TOPPER'S is both a local and national treasure. The restaurant is recognized as a AAA Five Diamond Award Winner as well as one of Zagat's highest rated restaurants in New England. Wine Director and sommelier, Jason Irving, curates the extensive list, which offers a vast Burgundy selection and rare vintage finds like a 1947 Lafite Rothschild and a 1961 Chateau Margaux.

TOPPER'S has its own on-site wine cellar housing its multimillion-dollar wine collection, which is open for guests of The Wauwinet to tour during weekdays. The experience includes a three-course dinner with a $200 wine pairing featuring selections from Rhone Valley and Tuscany.

The Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards were established in 1981 as a way to recognize restaurants with outstanding wine programs. The awards are broken down into three categories, with only 97 restaurants receiving the Grand Award from this year's judging. The results can be viewed online and will are included in Wine Spectator's magazines.
